I'm not at all surprised. I was only ever at one Hooper auction in my area and I suspected fakes and resealed packs. There were just too many items that were notorious for being counterfeited like the '88 Burger King Emmitt Smith card. I think there were 3 of them. There was a '53 Mantle, 22 unopened packs of '86 fleer basketball,an unopened wax box of '77 baseball, numerous unopened football cellos from the 50's or 60's. There was just so much of the stuff that you learn as a collector to stay away from. My gut feeling was that this was stuff bought dirt cheap on ebay and sold at a local auction where there wouldn't be as many people .who would smell a rat and that the packs were tampered with. Only my opinion. Perhaps I'm wrong but there seems to be quite a few people who were burned by this person.
