Preview: 2011 TRISTAR Pursuit Baseball

A lot of collectors refer to TRISTAR’s prospect sets as a poor man’s Bowman Chrome.  Although they must be popular or TRISTAR wouldn’t take the time to make them.  Collectors can look for all kinds of autographs, some cards including (5) signatures.  But as for me, my favorite part will be the Obak preview cards. [...]

What you are looking at here is a product that is still being researched and discovered.  Very little is known about the 1915 PM1 “Fancy Border” pin set.  No clues on who made them or how they were distributed.  About 25 different pins have been found.  They are very rare and when one pops-up for [...]

2010-2011 Playoff Contenders Patches Basketball Box Break & Review

Design: Basic design for a Contenders product.  I like how on the base cards it states when the team was established.  If your not a fan of manufactured patches, this product isn’t for you. Price: A hobby box will cost about $100.00.  I think its a little expensive, but thats just me. “Hit” Quality: Each [...]

Card of the Day: Dan Marino 2010 Topps Five Star Jumbo Jersey

This is a great looking card, but why did Topps have to put “Authentic Game-Used Patch”?  Its not a patch, its a piece of jersey.  I can see a lot of scammers taking advantage of this wording.

Card of the Day: Miguel Cabrera 2000 Royal Rookies Futures Auto

David Letterman’s New Diamond

Last night Hank Aaron appeared on David Letterman.  Being a spokesman for Topps, Aaron presented Dave with a special card serial numbered 1/1 which contained a diamond.  I think its great to see sports cards on television.  This really has been a great week for Topps.
