I decided to stop at the card shop this afternoon while I was on my way home and picked up a pack of 2008 Bowman Sterling baseball and a pack of 2008 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection baseball. Here are the results:
2008 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection:
- Randy Johnson base #’ed/350
- Chipper Jones base #’ed/350
- Vernon Wells base #’ed/350
- Jim Rice Triple Jersey on-card autograph #’ed 20/20
2008 Bowman Sterling:
- Masahide Kobayashi RC Refractor #’ed/199
- Jeff Locke autograph
- Tim Fedroff Black Refractor autograph #’ed/25
- Jake Arrieta autograph jersey
- Yunesky Sanchez Refractor #’ed/199
I knew that the Ultimate Collection was a real hit or miss product, but I wanted to give it a try and I think I did pretty well. I know it could have been much worse. I know someone who would really be interested in the Rice autograph (I’m talking to you John from A Pack A Day). The best card from the Sterling pack would have to be the Fedroff Black Refractor autograph numbered to 25. I enjoy watching prospects go up and down through the system, and it makes it even better when I have a good card of them.
