Flashback Product of the Week: 1966 Donruss – Marvel Super Heroes

The summer movie season has begun.  Thor was absolutely fantastic!  I loved the story, graphics, and of the course the little post-credit scene at the end.  Watchers even got a little taste of Hawkeye too.  This just makes me even more excited for the other movies due out later this summer such as X-Men: First Class, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Green Lantern.  Its all building-up to The Avengers next year.  Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and god knows who else all in the same movie.  Its going to be totally insane!!!

In 1966, Donruss produced a product called Marvel Super Heroes.  The set consists of 66 cards, and covers all of Marvels favorite comic characters at the time.  I like the cards that have empty comic book bubbles that let collectors fill in their own captions.  I’d consider this set semi-popular, especially this time of year when all the movies are coming out.  A complete set recently sold for $175.00.  The empty pack wrappers sell for $15.00.
