Design:
I like the horizontal rookie cards. It shakes things up from the usual vertical ones. The best thing about Elite for me has always been the die-cut cards. The base set looks a little dull.
Price:
Hobby boxes are currently selling for around $96.00.
“Hit” Quality :
Collectors can find (4) “hits” on average per box. I pulled the following:
Autographs
- Quinton Carter Rookie Turn of the Century Auto #’ed/499
- Von Miller Rookie Turn of the Century Auto #’ed/299
Relics
- Donald Driver Down & Distance Jersey #’ed/299
- Johnny Knox Down & Distance Jersey #’ed/299
Rookies
- Jabaal Sheard RC #’ed/999
- Aldon Smith RC #’ed/999
- A.J. Green RC #’ed/999
- Akeen Ayers RC #’ed/999
- Bilal Powell RC #’ed/999
- Ryan Williams RC #’ed/999
- Edmund Gates RC #’ed/999
Other Serial Numbered Cards
- LaDainian Tomlinson Status Die-Cut #’ed/21
- Curtis Loften Hit List #’ed/999
- LaDainian Tomlinson Legends of the Fall #’ed/999
- Jeremy Maclin Craftsmen #’ed/999
- Chad Henne Power Formulas #’ed/999
Not quite $96.00 worth, but I got what is guaranteed on the box. Plain jerseys are something of the past.
Overall:

Overall, I give 2011 Donruss Elite 3 footballs out of 5 (1=poor & 5=perfect). My box was pretty standard. No big “hits”. The die-cuts are the coolest aspect about this product.
