2012 Press Pass Racing Box Break & Review

Design: Photobucket

As always, Press Pass utilized great photography with their flagship racing product.  They also did a good job when it came to relic placement on the cards.  You can specifically see this on their Burning Rubber race-used tire relics.  The piece of tire just isn’t thrown on the card.  Press Pass designed the card so the tire relic looks like the car’s actual tire.  That is nice CRI (creative relic integration) – I’m making up my own terms now 🙂

Price: Photobucket

Boxes are currently selling for $70.00.

“Hit” Quality: Photobucket

Like many flagship products, collectors aren’t necessarily going to be buying boxes for the “hits”.  Its a set collectors product.  Boxes state you’ll receive (1) memorabilia card.  With that being said, you can still pull some decent “hits”.  I would also like to mention that I pulled a lot of duplicates.  I pulled the following:

  • Kasey Kahne Auto #’ed/15

  • Kevin Harvick Burning Rubber Race-Used Tire Relic #’ed/99 – this piece of tire was used at Martinsville Speedway on 4-3-11

  • Ron Hornaday #55 #’ed/35

Overall: Photobucket

Overall, I give 2012 Press Pass Racing 3.5 tires out of 5 (1=poor & 5=perfect).  Cool looking CRI (creative relic integration) and set collectors should enjoy it.  Its Press Pass’s kick-off to their 2012 racing lineup.  I’m looking forward to some of their new products next year.  Press Pass does racing very well.
