Design:
11-12 NBA Hoops pays tribute to all those past Hoops products that were made popular during the late 80’s and well into the 90’s. Panini did a nice job with the design as it contains an updated look for today’s collectors, but keeps that old school appeal. Very little foil was used in this product, and the cards just have a nice feel to them.
Price:
Boxes are currently selling for around $68.00. If your a basketball collector on a budget, this product will definitely fix that pack busting inch.
“Hit” Quality:
11-12 NBA Hoops is not a product that you purchase and hope to pull a big “hit”. Are they in there? Of coarse, but this is mainly a set collectors product. The base set consists of 279 cards. The buyback autographs are a great addition, especially the David Robinson 89-90 Hoops RC. Each box contains (2) autographs. I pulled the following:
Autos
- Ian Mahinmi Auto
- Hasheem Thabeet Auto
- Chase Budinger Glossy #70
- Derrick Caracter Artist’s Proof #70
- Darren Collison Artist’s Proof #77
Overall:
Overall, I give 11-12 NBA Hoops a generous 3.5 Pipino Knights out of 5 (1=poor & 5=perfect). Its a nice product for collectors that enjoy putting sets together and have fond memories of opening those old Hoops boxes as a kid. Lots of base with great photography.
