Flashback Product of the Week: 1990 Collect-A-Books Premiere Edition Baseball

Photobucket

These are not like today’s booklets.  No autographs, jerseys, patches, or serial numbers.  Just plain old cards.  The 1990 Collect-A-Books Premiere Edition Baseball set was the first in a series of three that year.  Each series has twelve standard size cards that can open up like a book.  They were designed like the 1970 Topps Comic Book inserts.  Former Yankees pitcher Jim Bouton was the brain child that inspired this product.  In today’s hobby, they aren’t that popular.  Boxes can easily be found for under $10.00.  Pro Set and Hoops also had some Collect-A-Books cards too.
