The Phillies got their asses kicked in the 1950 World Series by the Yankees. The Yankees swept them in four games. The same two teams met each other again in 2009, and the Yankees beat the Phillies once more. These Phillies were known as the “Whiz Kids” with guys such as Richie Ashburn and Robin Roberts. The Yankees were favored by far to win.
As for this little pin. It was made just for members of the media. It oddly resembles the way Harry Kalas in standing when you look at his statue. They are rare. This one recently sold for $275.00.
