Upper Deck may not always release products on time, but if you have the patients and the money it can be well worth the wait. Upper Deck announced today that they will shortly release 2011-2012 Exquisite Basketball. This is one brand that just screams high-end to collectors. College basketball has a religious following in this country, and I’m sure Upper Deck hopes their college basketball version becomes as successful as their recently released Exquisite Football.
Upper Deck says there will be a huge autograph inside each box – Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Bill Russell, LeBron James, or Dr. J. They also mentioned that there will be a Jordan autograph guaranteed per case. For the amount you will pay for a case you better get a Jordan autograph. Dimensions Shadowbox cards will of course be thrown in too.
Nobody does high-end products like Upper Deck. Topps gets damn close, especially with a product like Five Star on their side, but I think Upper Deck beats them out. Panini tries, but they aren’t quite there yet. No product that costs $400.00 to $500.00 a box should have single plain colored relic cards – National Treasures.
