I’m all for the endless amount of Prizm parallels Panini keeps churning out.  They seem to make new Prizm parallel cards for any occasion.  It wouldn’t surprise me if they’re working on a special Christmas Prizm parallel right now.  When collectors see a baseball version of Prizm, one thing comes to mind – Diet Chrome.  That’s what happens when you don’t have MLB logos on a Chrome-like product.  I do like the way the black and white photos look on some of these very colorful parallels.

Boxes are currently selling for $87.00.

“Hit” Quality:  photo 25balls.jpg

If you’re looking for one “hit” after another, Prizm boxes aren’t the way to go.  Every box has (2) autographs, plus a bunch of parallels and inserts.

I pulled the following:

Autos

  • J.J. Hardy
  • Tyler Cloyd

Overall:  photo 25balls.jpg

Overall, I give 2013 Prizm 2.5 baseballs out of 5 (1=poor & 5=perfect).  The parallels (especially the low numbered ones) are really popular with collectors.  Its great to see collectors spending tons of money on cards that aren’t autographed or contain a relic.  I think this product would kick some major ass if Panini could use MLB logos.
