2020 Topps 582 Montgomery Club – Set #4

This was a big week for those collectors who are members of the Topps 582 Montgomery Club.  On Tuesday members were allowed to pre-order the new online-exclusive 2020 Bowman Sapphire Edition Baseball before the general public.  When you don’t have the general public to fight against getting your hands on these special products is so much easier.  I’m expecting my shipment shorty.

Set #4 of the 2020 Topps 582 Montgomery Club membership arrived this week too.  The design of this set is based on the 1961 Topps Dice Game.  If your not familiar with the 1961 Topps Dice Game don’t be alarmed.  Cards from this set are so incredibly rare it is believed that only a few copies of each card exist.  Many speculate that they were going to be part of some type of board game that never saw the light of day.  What examples do exist are test subjects which found their way out of the Topps headquarters.

During the 2018 National Sports Collectors Convention a Mickey Mantle card from the 1961 Topps Dice Game was on display.  This was the first time I had ever seen one of these cards in person.  Every card in this set is rare, but Mickey Mantle holds the top spot as far as demand goes.

(20) cards highlight this 1961 Topps Dice Game inspired set.  As a Phillies fan I’m happy to see Bryce Harper find his way in here.
