2014 NFL Player of the Day Contest Coming Soon!

 photo nflpod_logo_2014_hi-res1_zps14ea3920.jpg

I’m happy to announce that Sports Card Info has been asked by Panini America and the NFLPA to participate in the 2014 NFL Player of the Day promotion.  This marks the second year in a row for Sports Card Info to be involved.  In short, this means Sports Card Info gets to give away a ton of stuff.  Just check out the goodies I got to give away last year.  It was the longest running and most entered contest in Sports Card Info’s history.  Sports Card Info even won a runner-up prize for holding one of the better contests.

I’m expecting a prize pack to arrive soon jammed with all sorts of stuff.  Be on the lookout for this contest.  This is one you won’t want to miss.  It’s easily the biggest one of the year.

Unboxing Panini’s Prize Pack!

If you recall, last week I announced that Sports Card Info was one of three runner-up winners in Panini’s 2013 NFL Player of the Day Hobby Blogger Promotion.  With that great honor came $100.00 and a prize pack.  Well the prize pack came, and it was beyond what I thought it would be.  Take a gander at what was inside.

Sports Card Info Is Runner-Up Winner In Panini’s 2013 NFL Player of the Day Hobby Blogger Promotion

 photo NFLPOD_logo_2013_zps9a387020.jpg

Last October Sports Card Info was invited to take part in the 2013 Panini NFL Player of the Day Hobby Blogger Promotion.  If you recall, Sports Card Info’s involvement in this promotion meant holding a contest jam-packed with a ton of great prizes.  It was the largest contest held in Sports Card Info’s six year history.  I’m happy to announce that Sports Card Info is one of three runner-up winners that took part in this promotion.  What does that mean?  That means Sports Card Info wins $100.00 and a prize pack from Panini.  Thanks again to everyone that participated.

Sports Card Info’s 2013 Annual Report Is In

Those dung flinging monkeys over at WordPress.com put together a nice annual report based on Sports Card Info’s activity for 2013.  I rarely look at the blog’s stats, but enjoy browsing through the annual report.  Plus I like sharing it with the public since you people are the ones that shape it.

It wasn’t a shock to me that the George Washington 2008 Upper Deck SP Legendary Cuts Hair Cut Signatures card that I used for the Card of the Day post on 1/30/13 got the most visits.  That card showed up on an episode of Pawn Stars and whenever it aired Sports Card Info’s stats shot up.

Follow the link below to see the full report.

The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year.  Sports Card Info was viewed about 140,000 times in 2013.  If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 6 days for that many people to see it.

Sports Card Info Celebrates 6 Years!

 photo 6th-birthday-cake_zpsf848231f.png

Today is Sports Card Info’s 6th anniversary.  A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, I guess you could say it all started when eBay allowed users to write guides covering all kinds of topics.  How To Spot Fake Sports Cards That Are For Sale was the first guide I put together.  That spawned a bunch of other sports card related guides, and then I decided to start my own blog.  I would like to thank Panini, Press Pass, In The Game, Atlanta Sports Cards, Lil’ Teammates, Sports Card Album, and OYO Sportstoys for supporting Sports Card Info.  I would also like to thank everyone that stops by here everyday to check out the Card of the Day and/or enter the latest contest(s).  Six years ago the hobby saw a surge in sports memorabilia blogs.  Over time many of them flamed out, but a few still remain.  Blogging on a regular basis takes dedication, and not everyone is able to do it.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!

Sports Card Info To Participate In Panini’s 2013 NFL Player of the Day Promotion

 photo NFLPOD_logo_2013_zps9a387020.jpg

Panini is the king when it comes to promotions.  They certainly aren’t afraid to giveaway some free stuff.  One of their longest and most successful promotional programs is their annual NFL Player of the Day promotion.  For more than a decade the Panini POD promotion has helped hobby shops bring in more customers, and sell products.  This year there are almost 900 hobby shops registered to participate.  Each hobby shop is sent an exclusive prize pack that contains all sorts of stuff they can giveaway to those customers that meet the requirements.  Be sure to see if your local hobby shop is one of the participants, so you can get your hands on some exclusive cards.  In the end, one lucky collector will get to spend the day with an NFL player, while tons of others will walk away with a lot of free prizes.

For the first time ever, Sports Card Info will be participating in Panini’s POD program this year.  I was contacted by Panini earlier this week, and happily agreed to participate.  One of the Panini POD prize kits should be arriving shortly.  Expect at least one contest to take place sometime between October 1st and November 15th.  I’m glad that Panini asked me to participate, as there are many collectors who don’t live near a hobby shop in order to get involved with this promotion.
