(3) 2020 Topps Archives Snapshots Baseball Box Break

One of the best benefits of being a member of the Topps 582 Montgomery Club is having the ability to pre-order certain online-exclusive products. This past week 2020 Topps Chrome Sapphire Baseball popped-up for pre-order and I missed out on it. Topps usually sends out an e-mail 24 hours ahead of the sale, but this time it only went out 4 hours prior. By the time I saw the e-mail the pre-order window had closed. Flipping these exclusive products on the secondary market is really fun. At $300/box 2020 Topps Chrome Sapphire Baseball to me was a bit expensive. As of right now, boxes are currently selling for $425 on the secondary market. That’s a flip, but nothing big after the fees. Its possible prices could go up. But I’m not that upset that I missed out.

As I mentioned before, flipping these products is what I usually do. But I decided to go the other route when it came to 2020 Topps Archives Snapshots Baseball. With the ability to buy three boxes at $25/box I chose to rip them open. Selling them sealed wouldn’t have been a major flip anyway.

Take a look at what I pulled. This was a cheap fun rip with a lot of on-card autograph goodness.

Here is what I pulled:

2020 Topps 582 Montgomery Club – Set #3 – BIG SURPRISE!

The third set of my 2020 Topps 582 Montgomery Club membership arrived in the mail, and it came with a welcomed surprise.  Along with the 20-card set, I received a rookie autograph of A.L. Rookie of the Year Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros.  I wasn’t expecting another autograph until the end of the year.

Set #3 is designed after the 1969 Topps Team Posters Test Issue.  Measuring 11.25″ x 19.75″, the 1969 Topps Team Posters Test Issue is one of the largest vintage items that Topps has ever produced.  Each poster comes with nine or ten players pictured on it.  Finding them in good condition can be quite difficult.  In order to fit into the packaging, they needed to be folded multiple times.  It was also common for people to pin/tape them to a wall.  Doing that would certainly cause some condition issues.

A variety of colors quickly catches your eye with this third installment.  Printed on vintage stock, these colors go all the way to the edges.  Very eye appealing.

Checklist:

  • Yordan Alvarez RC #1
  • Aristides Aquino RC #2
  • Jose Berrios #3
  • Bo Bichette RC #4
  • Gerrit Cole #5
  • Ken Griffey Jr. #6
  • Vladimir Guerrero #7
  • Eloy Jimenez #8
  • Gavin Lux RC #9
  • Dustin May RC #10
  • Brendan McKay RC #11
  • A.J. Puk RC #12
  • Austin Riley #13
  • Gary Sanchez #14
  • Max Scherzer #15
  • Nick Senzel #16
  • Noah Syndergaard #17
  • Mike Trout #18
  • Jordan Yamamoto RC #19
  • Mike Yastrzemski #20

(3) 2020 Topps Series 1 Baseball Jumbo Pack Break

Today I took a trip to my local card shop – Sports Zone Toys & Comics.  Its a really nice shop.  Easy to get around and very well organized.  The main reason I went was to pickup a few plastic containers used for storing cards.  I left the shop with some containers, Bryce Harper bobblehead, Phillie Phanatic Super7 action figure, and (3) jumbo packs of 2020 Topps Series 1 Baseball.

Here are the results from the (3) jumbo packs.  It was a newly opened box with only a couple of packs purchased from it.  The store’s owner said no hits had been pulled yet.  FedEx just dropped off a 2020 Topps Series 1 Baseball hobby box which I’ll be working on next.

Sports Zone Toys & Comics is quite active on Facebook and YouTube.  Check them out!
