How A Relic Card Is Made

Ever since Panini  started their blog, collectors have been given all kinds of behind the scenes access.  Check out their newest video showing you how they made the Paul “Bear” Bryant relics found in 2010 Century Collection.

Flashback Product of the Week: 1999 Team Best Diamond Best Edition

In 1999, Team Best released a product called Diamond Best Edition.  Each box contained 6 packs with 6 cards per pack and a 9″ Salvino Rookie Bammer Bear.  It also included 1 serial numbered trading card of authenticity.  I have no idea what that means.  Maybe it means that only the one card is authentic. Some of the more popular players in this product would be Burrell, Drew, and Ankiel.

When I started attending card shows back in the mid-90’s, there was a craze going on that annoyed the hell out of me – Beanie Babies.  It wasn’t uncommon to see dealers have their glass cases full of great cards only to have them covered with these furry little bean bags from hell.  Today you don’t see these things at shows very often since the craze died, but every once in awhile you’ll see them pop-up.
