I’ve been attending the Ephrata Rec Center Sports Card Show for years.  It has been around for over 30 years, and is usually packed with a ton of good Phillies stuff.  I busted (2) boxes of 2010 Panini Century Collection, and picked-up a few Phillies singles for my collection.  Former Phillies catcher Bob Boone was signing autographs.

I couldn’t pass up on this Jimmy Rollins bobble-head.  This was a stadium giveaway in 2008 with the Clearwater Threshers.  The dealer didn’t know what he paid for it, and said “Give me $20.00”.  I took it!

Grand Opening Pulls from Sports Zone Memorabilia

Today was the grand opening of Sports Zone Memorabilia located in Selinsgrove, PA.  It moved from Lewisburg, PA and is now on the strip right across from Applebee’s.  It has to be one of the nicest shops I’ve ever been in.  They have all kinds of cards, memorabilia, jerseys, and pretty much anything that deals with the hobby.  They even have coffee, chocolate, Wi-Fi and a big screen TV.  In this day and age, this is what a card shop should be like.

While I was there, I picked-up a box of 2010 Classics, 2009 UD Ultimate Collection, and a jumbo pack of 2010 Topps Football.  Check out some of my hits!!!

If your a sports collector, and your passing through Selinsgrove, I highly suggest you stop in at Sports Zone Memorabilia.

On October 23, 2010 Sports Zone Memorabilia will be having a Rip Party sponsored by Topps.  Only 15 people can attend and it costs $50.00.  I think we will be ripping 2010 Topps Updates & Highlights Baseball.  It will be exciting since I’ve never been to a Rip Party before.

Box Breaks From The Card Shop

This morning I made my way over to one of my local card shops.  I decided to sell my ’09 UD Ultimate Collection Football – Ultimate Eight Signature card to the owner in exchange for some cash and unopened products.  Along with the cash, I picked up another box of ’09 UD Ultimate Collection Football and a box of 2010 Topps National Chicle Baseball.  I really like the design of National Chicle Baseball.  It was a very fun afternoon of pack ripping 🙂  Let me know if you need anything.  Maybe we can work out a trade.  Thanks for watching!!

This has to be the most bad-ass image of Honus Wagner.  I wouldn’t want to run into him on the field.

Birthday Box Breaks

Busting all those boxes was a lot of fun!!!!!  The ’08 Ultimate Collection yieled the lowest numbered card.  Pulling a Phillies relic is also good.  Take a look.

Just A Few Pack Breaks

I know I could have put both in the same video, but I did it this way just for YouTube.

08 Ultimate Collection & 08 Bowman Sterling Pack Breaks

I decided to stop at the card shop this afternoon while I was on my way home and picked up a pack of 2008 Bowman Sterling baseball and a pack of 2008 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection baseball.  Here are the results:

2008 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection:

  • Randy Johnson base #’ed/350
  • Chipper Jones base #’ed/350
  • Vernon Wells base #’ed/350
  • Jim Rice Triple Jersey on-card autograph #’ed 20/20

2008 Bowman Sterling:

  • Masahide Kobayashi RC Refractor #’ed/199
  • Jeff Locke autograph
  • Tim Fedroff Black Refractor autograph #’ed/25
  • Jake Arrieta autograph jersey
  • Yunesky Sanchez Refractor #’ed/199

I knew that the Ultimate Collection was a real hit or miss product, but I wanted to give it a try and I think I did pretty well.  I know it could have been much worse.  I know someone who would really be interested in the Rice autograph (I’m talking to you John from A Pack A Day).  The best card from the Sterling pack would have to be the Fedroff Black Refractor autograph numbered to 25.  I enjoy watching prospects go up and down through the system, and it makes it even better when I have a good card of them.

Topps Obama & 2008 UD Rookie Exclusive Pack Breaks

While at Wal-Mart this morning I picked up a few packs to break.  I decided to go outside of my “box” and purchase a pack of Obama Topps cards while at the same time picking up a rack pack of 2008 Upper Deck Rookie Exclusive football cards.  Here are the results:

  • Lawrence Jackson
  • Mario Urrutia
  • Keenan Burton
  • Ryan Grice-Mullins
  • DaJuan Morgan
  • Dustin Keller
  • Jerome Felton
  • Jacob Hester
  • Josh David Booty – its really John but Upper Deck made an error
  • Thomas Brown
  • Adrian Arrington
  • Kalvin McRae
  • Kevin Smith
  • Harry Douglas
  • Erik Ainge
  • Bruce Davis
  • Justin Forsett
  • Frank Okam
  • Shawn Crable
  • Gosder Cherilus
  • Dennis Keyes
  • Derrick Harvey
  • Jerod Mayo
  • DeJuan Tribble
  • Vince Young Rookie Photo Shoot Flashback

Overall it was a decent break.  I pulled my first Bess and Henne rookies for my Dolphins collection.  After checking eBay, there is an actual Josh Booty who was a rookie back in 2001.  The one I pulled has to be an error, because on the back it says John.
