Canadiana Contest: Manon Rheaume Auto! – NOW CLOSED

Manon Rheaume is the first an only woman to play in an NHL exhibition game.  She also won a Silver Medal during the 1998 Olympics in Nagano.  She has a handful of autographs, but you don’t see them all the time.  I recently pulled this autograph from a box of the new ITG Canadiana.  Good luck!!!

2011 ITG Canadiana Box Break & Review

Design: Photobucket

In The Game has put together a beautiful 100-card base set that is built on thick card stock.  The set consists of a wide variety of Canadian athletes and entertainers.  The autographs are on stickers, but ITG uses those nice clear stickers you can barely see.

Price: Photobucket

Boxes are currently selling for about $90.00.

“Hit” Quality: Photobucket

Canadiana’s release date was pushed back because an important signer didn’t return their cards back in time.  ITG does not include redemption cards within their products, and because of the delay they decided to include an additional “hit”.  Now each box includes (1) autograph, (1) memorabilia, and an additional autograph or memorabilia card.  That’s (3) “hits”.  I pulled the following:

  • Manon Rheaume Auto
  • Scott Niedermayer Auto
  • Larry Walker Canadiana Gold Version 4-Color Patch
Base Cards
  • Yvonne De Carlo #99
  • Maurice “Mad Dog” Vachon #37
  • Norma Shearer #45
  • Oscar Peterson #69
  • Georges Vezina #19
  • Jean Beliveau #42
Overall: Photobucket
Overall, I give 2011 ITG Canadiana 3.5 maple leafs out of 5 (1=poor & 5=perfect).  The cards look very nice, and you can’t help but love that they come with their own plastic container.  ITG not only supplies collectors with cards, but supplies to go with them.  I also like how ITG alters their logo when it comes to different products.  ITG’s logo for Canadiana contains part of a maple leaf.  Their hockey products contain a silhouette of a hockey player, and the same goes for their baseball products.  Its little things like that which make a difference.
