Some Early National News

Its never too early to start talking about the National Sports Collectors Convention.  The 2012 National will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center from August 1-5.  Tickets will go on sale around March 10.  Press Pass announced today that they will be giving away this Danica Patrick autographed banner at their booth during the show.

Racing Rookies Can Be Mind-Blowing

Next month Press Pass plans to release 2012 Total Memorabilia which I have referred to as FanFare on steroids.  In it, collectors will find Danica Patrick’s Sprint Cup Series rookie card.  That’s correct, Danica is getting another line of rookie cards since this is the first year she will be in the Sprint Cup Series.

When I think of her rookies, the first thing that comes to mind are some of the Rittenhouse cards released well before Press Pass got their hands on her stuff.  2006 Allen & Ginter contains some popular rookies of her too.  In 2010, she decided to take on NASCAR which is when Press Pass jumped all over her.  Now in 2012 we are getting a new set of rookies all over again.  She isn’t the first driver for this to happen to either.  Its happened to many others that have gone down the same path.

As these updated rookies keep coming out, they get watered down more and more.  Nothing ever beats someone’s first licensed cards.  You can especially see this when your dealing with baseball cards.

Watch out collectors, if she sneezes you might get another line of rookies.

Press Pass Unveils Their 2010 National VIP Set

The 2010 National Sports Collectors Convention is less than two months away, and today Press Pass unveiled its 6-card set that collectors will receive inside their VIP package.  This is a sure sign that summer has begun.  Check them out!

The Danica Patrick card will be redeemable at the Press Pass booth.

Team JR Holograms & Patrick’s Stuff Is On Fire

Dale Earnhardt, Jr’s racing team must really want its collectors to see the hologram thats required on all their driver’s autographed cards.  Unlike most holograms which are off to the side or on the back, these have to be placed over a portion of the signature.  I’m not quite sure how I should feel about this.  The holograms add to their authenticity, but placing them over part of the signature might be going too far.  Then again, when it comes to authenticity, there is no such thing as too much security.

Before the release of 2010 Press Pass Premium, Danica Patrick only had autographs in ’06 Topps Allen & Ginter and ’07 Rittenhouse.  Both are extremely rare and expensive when they appear for sale.  The above red ink autograph is giving both of her previous autographs a run for their money.  It has already surpassed the $400.00 mark and I’m sure it will rise even more.  Most fans believe that 2010 Premium is the first product to contain relics of Patrick.  Digging around, you’ll find thats not the case.  Patrick’s first relic can be found in 2008 S.I Swimsuit.

2010 Stealth Preview

This June, Press Pass plans to release another version of its Stealth Racing.  Collectors can look for (1) autograph and (1) race-used sheet metal card per hobby box.  Obviously this year Danica Patrick is the driver people are looking for.  When her new autographs are released, I wonder how it will affect the price of her very popular 2006 Allen & Ginter autograph?

A few days ago they released 2010 Draft Pick Football.  Ever since August I’ve received a steady flow on new products from Press Pass, but this hasn’t arrived yet.  If I’m lucky to get a box, get ready for another contest!!!

More 2010 Premium Info & Pictures

Press Pass will release 2010 Premium Racing on 4/21/10.  Each hobby box will contain (1) autograph and (1) memorabilia card on average.  Collectors can find iron-on patch parallels exclusive to retail boxes found at Walmart and Target.  NASCAR has some of the best looking patches.

Not too sure what you would iron these on to, but if it has Danica Patrick on it I’m sure collectors will go nuts over them.
