2011 Element Box Break & Review

Design: Photobucket

I’m glad to see Press Pass decided to stick with recycled cardboard for this product.  It sure beats the same old glossy stuff we see with all the other products.  Its cool to hold a card up to the light and see the actual grain.  The “Flashback” design looks good, but I enjoyed last year’s Element design better.  The “Tales from the Track” inserts show off some great photography and contain fun NASCAR history.  They are entertaining to read.

Price: Photobucket

A hobby box will cost about $76.00.

“Hit” Quality: Photobucket

Collectors can look for (2) “hits” per box – (1) autograph & (1) memorabilia.  I received the following “hits”:

  • Kurt Busch “Flagship Performers” Race-Used White Flag #’ed/50
  • Kevin Conway Cyan Press Plate Autograph #’ed 1/1

Each box comes with a Mystery Pack.  Inside mine I pulled a No. 99 Roush Fenway Racing Ford black border parallel #’ed/35.

Overall: Photobucket

Overall, I give 2011 Element 3.5 tires out of 5 (1=poor & 5=perfect).  I like the feel of the cards and the “hits” I pulled were nice.  Give it a shot racing fans!

Various Auto Levels In 2011 Element

Doesn’t this design resemble an old Fleer brand?  Either way, the nickname written further away from the signature is cool.

2011 Element Racing Preview

Press Pass plans to release its newest version of Element Racing in mid-January.  2011 Element will have a retro theme to it and collectors can look for the following:

  • (1) autograph & (1) memorabilia card per box on average
  • Flagstand Swatches – New for 2011!  Race-used eight-piece memorabilia cards featuring swatches of all eight NASCAR flags! (#’d to 25 or less)
  • Trackside Treasures – New for 2011!  Features a wide range of race-used “treasures” numbered to 99 or less.  Look for Prime Swatches numbered to 25 or less!
  • Flagship Performers (race-used flag cards #’d to 50 or less) – look for three sets each featuring a die cut of the driver’s total wins, starts or championships!
  • Finish Line – features an oversized swatch of race-used tire, green flag or checkered flag

I’m not too sure what I think of the design yet.  I’ll need to see more images.  It looks a little basic to me, but I guess thats the retro theme.  Last year’s set dealt with being “green” and they printed the cards on recycled cardboard which I thought was nice.
