Reading Phillies vs. Akron Aeros – 6/17/12

If you recall, last March I was able to score some free tickets to a Reading Phillies game after meeting a gentleman while waiting in line to get into the Ephrata Rec Center Show I attend each year.  Well, Father’s Day was the time to cash in those tickets.  The seats were great!  Three rows behind home-plate.  If I was any closer, they could have asked me to play 🙂  I had never gone to see the Reading Phillies before.  The stadium has a lot of history, but comes with a modern feel.  Reading’s pitcher Julio Rodriguez had a no-hitter through 5 innings.  In the end, Reading won 4-2.  I picked up a team set and three new pins for my collection.  They were giving away Richie Ashburn style hats.

Panini Father’s Day Promotion Is Heating Up – New Auto & Relic Preview

Panini got a little Twitter happy this afternoon and sent out a few new images of the relics and autographs you’ll be able to find in their 2012 Father’s Day promotion this year.  This promotion will work just like their Black Friday promotion they did last year.  If you don’t have a local shop, Panini has said there will be an online component.  A list of participating dealers will be announced on Monday.

Elements Inserts Found In Panini’s Father’s Day Promo Set

Panini is breaking out some great photography for their Elements insert set found within their Father’s Day promotional packs this year.  Throw some on-card autographs on these bad boys and you have one hell of a product.  I believe Panini is the king of promos.  I visit them the most when they have their promos going on at the National Sports Collectors Convention.

Panini Gearing-Up For Their 2012 Father’s Day Promotion

If there is one thing Panini is good at, its promos.  This year they are building on the success of the Black Friday packs and will be rolling out a special Father’s Day promotion.  No details yet on how you can obtain these specially made cards, but it probably will involve heading to your local participating hobby shop and purchasing a box or two.  Panini makes some of the best promos in the hobby.  It doesn’t matter if its Black Friday, Father’s Day, or The National Sports Collectors Convention, collectors love Panini’s promos.  There should be promos for every holiday.  I can’t wait for their Groundhog Day promos.
