My 2010 Topps Football Gridiron Giveaway Hit

Inside each jumbo pack of 2010 Topps Football collectors can find a Topps Gridiron Giveaway redemption.  I just redeemed one and received a Danny Villaneuva 1963 Topps #43.  I was hoping for an old card and I got one.  Very cool idea by Topps.  What have you received?

New HK Bobblehead Hits The Market

Last Sunday, the Wilmington Blue Rocks gave out a new Harry Kalas bobblehead to the first 1,000 fans through the gate.  Before this, Kalas’s only bobblehead came from a stadium giveaway in 2002 and also contained Richie Ashburn.  Many of you know how much an HK fan I am, and I have a feeling one of these will be reaching my shelf soon.  Although its not quite as popular as the one featuring HK and Whitey, they seem to sell for $25.00 to $45.00.

Charlie Manuel Bobble Contest! – NOW CLOSED

During the Phillies Hot Stove Dinner last night, I won a Charlie Manuel bobble head.  Every table had one sitting in the middle and if you were sitting on the chair with a baseball card taped to the bottom you were the lucky person to keep the bobble head.  These were actually stadium giveaways the Crosscutters gave out last summer and they used the leftover bobble heads as centerpieces last night.  Normally I would keep the bobble head for my collection, but I already have this one so I thought why not use it for a contest since I haven’t had one for a long time.  It is in excellent condition and I’m sure there are some Phillies fans out there that would enjoy owning it.

Contest Details:

  • The contest will close Sunday, January 18, 2009 @ 7:00 p.m. EST
  • To enter, please leave a comment in this post
  • You may enter once per day
  • When entering, please provide a valid e-mail address
  • The winner will be selected at random
  • Once the contest has closed, I will need the winner’s mailing address so I can ship them the bobble head for FREE!!!  It will be packed very carefully.

Interesting Stadium Giveaway

Baseball teams have been giving stuff to their fans for decades.  Sometimes its a seat cushion, T-shirt, hat, or an exclusive bobble head.  On April 21, 2009 the Phillies will be giving fans a 2008 World Series Ring on a keychain to fans that walk through the gate that day.  When I first saw this on T.V. I thought it looked pretty cool, but didn’t think much more about it after that.  This afternoon for some crazy reason I went to Phillies.com to see if they were selling them ahead of time.  Quickly I found out they were not, so I did what any collector would do, head over to eBay.  I can’t believe that people are pre-selling this stadium giveaway.  These simple little keychains are selling for $40.00 a piece.  I have never see collectors pre-selling stadium giveaways before.  After they release them to the public next week, I hope the price comes down.  I’d like to add one to my collection of Phillies stuff.

“The Flyin Hawaiian” SGA Figure

Over the last month I have been watching these bobble head figures of Shane Victorino a.k.a The Flyin Hawaiian increase in price.  These were a Citizen Bank Park giveaway this past year.  Before the Phillies won the World Series they were selling for about $30.00.  Now they are selling for almost $100.00.  I think that is incredible considering these were just given away.  I have a Shane Victorino bobble head but its not like this one.  Mine is a dual mini bobble head that features Shane Victorino and Danny Sandoval in their Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Red Barons uniforms which was also a stadium giveaway.  I haven’t seen any of those pop up for sale in a long time.  As you can see, people collect everything 🙂

Stadium Giveaways

I have been to a bunch of games in my life and have received a lot of weird stadium handouts when going through the front gate.  This has to be one of the coolest bobbleheads I have ever received at a game.  This is “Boomer” the Williamsport Crosscutters new mascot.  It was given to the first 1,000 fans at last Friday night’s game.  I was able to pick up three and man am I glad I did.  I can’t believe what one of these sold for.
