The 35th National: Day #2

Day #2 of the 35th National was a fun one.  Then again, everyday at the National is fun.  I participated in promos from Upper Deck and Topps, then took some time to check out some of the many dealers found outside of the Corporate Area.  I even seemed to pull a little MOJO!

Here are the major highlights of the day for me.

I purchased 15 packs of 2014 Topps Baseball and took them over to the Topps booth.  In return I got 6 Allen & Ginter minis – (2) Jim Brown, Johnny Manziel, Mike Trout, Jadeveon Clowney, and Derek Jeter.

Upper Deck started their wrapper redemption program this morning at 10:25 a.m.  Today’s promo cards were of Jack Nicklaus, Joc Pederson, Johnny Manziel, Archie Griffin, and Wayne Gretzky.  I also got one of those Magic Johnson Amazon.com cards.  Wait until you see what I got in the pack I needed to open in order to get these.

In order to get my Upper Deck wrapper redemption pack today, I decided to open a pack of 2014 Upper Deck SP Game-Used Edition Golf.  Inside the pack was this Jack Nicklaus Inked Fabrics Shirt/Auto #’ed/10.  I also pulled a Nancy Lopez Tour Gear Dual Shirt #’ed/35.

Razor Entertainment’s ’09 National Promos + Exclusive Products

Thanks to VOTC for forwarding me the following info.

This morning I received an e-mail informing me on Razor Entertainment’s promotional events that will be taking place at this year’s National.  Razor has created a new product called Cut Signature National Edition which can only be obtained by dealers who are setting up at the event and buy directly from Razor.  They only plan to make a few cases to act as a preview to their feature cut signature product which is due to come out in December.  Cut Signature National Edition will feature signatures from some of the most famous people in the world ranging from sports, politics, music and film.  Famous celebrities such as John Wayne, John Lennon, Wayne Gretzky and even Michael Jackson are included within this exclusive product only found at this year’s National.  This would be Michael Jackson’s first certified autographed card within a product.

2009 National Autograph Prices Now Available

TRISTAR has released the pricing list for the athletes that are scheduled to sign at this year’s National.  In a post I made a few days ago, I said that Lynn Swann is going to make a rare signing appearence which doesn’t happen that often.  Thats why it doesn’t surprise me that he is the most expensive personal to meet and obtain an autograph.  If I stayed another day and wanted him to sign my football, it would cost me $229.00.  If I wanted to get my picture with him over in the TRISTAR booth it would cost an additional $199.00.  I highly doubt that he would let me come around the table to take a quick photo based in the info given.  A lot of the other guys let me do that when I was there two years ago.  Looking at the details for Swann, you almost need a damn Ph. D to understand what he will and will not sign.

Flats Up to and Including 11×14, Goal Line Art Cards:

Will not sign trading cards or unlicensed photos.  Lynn reserves the right to reject any item.

Full Size Helmet, Jersey:

Will not sign unsigned or single signed jerseys or jersey numbers and will only sign jerseys with 2 or more signatures already on the jersey.

Inscriptions:

One accomplishment per inscription up to 5 words

Last year, Lynn Swann ran for governor of Pennsylvania and lost.  Perhaps he needs to pay back everyone that tried to get him elected.  Maybe he’d give me a discount if I told him I voted for him 🙂

On a positive note, Y.A. Tittle only costs $45.00 and will sign anything.  The VIP package looks to have a lot of good guys to get autographs of too.  I’m interested to see what other promotional stuff will be included with the package as well.
