2013-14 ITG Enforcers II Box Break & Review

Design:  photo 3blood.jpg

From a design point of view, Enforcers II is almost identical when compared to its predecessor.  The only main difference are a handful of new designs.  But the blood spotted look, along with the bandage-like signature design will never get old.

Price:  photo 4blood.jpg

Boxes are currently selling for $68.00.  Given the amount of “hits” you get, that isn’t too bad of a price.  Sure, when you have a lower price with a product that contains a bunch of “hits” the odds of getting something really big drop, but that’s the way this hobby works.

“Hit” Quality:  photo 4blood.jpg

Every box contains 12 cards – (4) autographs, (3) relics, and (5) base cards.

I pulled the following:

  • Mick Vukota Enforcers II Auto
  • Craig Coxe Enforcers II Auto
  • Jim Nill Enforcers II Auto
  • Ron Stern Enforcers II Auto

Overall:  photo 3blood.jpg

Overall, I give Enforcers II 3 blood drops out of 5 (1=poor & 5=perfect).  Its one of the most violent and bloody sets ever created.  You’d never see anything like this when it comes to baseball, basketball or golf :-).  The design is great, but it would have been nice to see some newer/innovated designs.  I don’t have a problem with the design they used before, but using the identical one again usually isn’t something collectors want to see.

Flashback Product of the Week: 1992 Comic Images Ghost Rider II Spirit of Vengeance

This Friday Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance will be released in theaters.  Its been five years since we’ve seen that famous Marvel Comics flaming skull on the big screen.  Ghost Rider has to be one of the darkest antiheroes comic book fans have ever seen.  From a visual perspective, he is one of the coolest looking characters.  This new film looks to be a lot darker than the first.  I look forward to seeing it this weekend.

In 1992, Comic Images released an 80-card set based on Ghost Rider.  There are also 10 glow-in-the-dark inserts for you to look for.  During the 90’s, comic book cards were on fire.  I’m sure there are collectors reading this that remember trading in some of their favorite sports cards for products like this.  Most of those cards have tanked, but a few still hold some value.  Sealed boxes can be found for under $10.00.

Flashback Product of the Week: 1989 Topps Ghostbusters II

When you think of the 1980’s, its hard not to think of the Ghostbusters.  I remember watching it over and over as a kid.  Today I still find myself watching it whenever its on T.V.

Topps didn’t create a trading card set for the first Ghostbusters film, probably because they didn’t want to take the chance of the movie failing, and then nobody would purchase the cards.  After seeing the success of the first movie, Topps decided to make a set for the sequel.  The cards show scenes from the movie, but my favorite thing about this product are the stickers.  I think the artwork was done extremely well.

1991 Pro Set Series II Pack Break

About two months ago I received a box of cards from a friend of mine.  He wanted me to go through them to see if there was anything worth trying to sell.  As soon as I opened the box I knew there was going to be a problem because most of the cards were from the 80’s and mid 90’s.  Not only that, but they were in terrible condition.  He said I could keep anything I wanted since he didn’t want anything in return.  After searching through the box, I came across a sealed pack of 1991 Pro Set Series II football cards, and this morning I decided to open it.

  • Jessie Hester
  • Neil Smith
  • Randall McDaniel
  • James Washington
  • Greg Townsend All-AFC Team
  • Willie Anderson
  • Thomas Everett
  • Morten Anderson
  • Freddie Joe Nunn
  • Joe Jacoby Think About It Don’t Pollute insert
  • Marty Lyons Legends insert
  • Reggie Johnson RC
  • Dixon Edwards RC
  • Russell Maryland RC
  • Nick Bell RC

No, I did not pull the Favre rookie 😦  It kinda felt weird opening a pack with that many cards in it.  The foil on that pack was real foil too.  Not like the stuff you find on packs today.

FYI – Sports Card Info’s first contest will be taking place soon.  The prize has been purchased, and the contest will start once it arrives.  More details to come within the next week or two 🙂
