Pin Mailday

I just had to add this one to my collection.  Next year there’re going all the way.

Press Pass Replacement Mailday!

The mailman just dropped of a replacement package from Press Pass.  Since I didn’t feel like waiting for my Phil Ivey autograph that was suppose to be in 2009 Main Event, I decided to settle for a replacement.  They sent me a Tony Stewart Pit Wall Banner relic #’ed/75, Jeff Burton autograph #’ed/10, and a pack of 2010 Main Event where I pulled a Danica Patrick mini Fight Card.  Thanks Press Pass!!!

Press Pass Mailday!

Today in the mail I received an authentic Kyle Busch Race-Used Lug Nut from Press Pass.  This is either a replacement for my Phil Ivey redemption or a prize for participating in their recent Facebook contest.  Either way its really cool!

Update: It was for participating in their Facebook contest.

Mailday from

Today in the mail I received a package from  Inside was a Scott Rolen 2006 Upper Deck Sweet Spot autograph #’ed/150.  There were also two packs – 2004 Fleer Inscribed & 2007 Upper Deck Spectrum.  Thanks again!!!  You can expect a package coming your way soon.

’10 Little League World Series Pin Mailday

This afternoon I received a package in the mail from my college, Pennsylvania College of Technology.  It came from the bookstore and inside was their brand new 2010 Little League World Series pin.  This year’s LLWS kicks off tomorrow morning and pin trading will once again be a big draw.  I plan to take a drive up to Williamsport this weekend to see whats going on.  Hopefully I’ll return with some more pins.

If anyone from Topps or TRISTAR is reading this, I have one person you could include in Allen & Ginter or OBAK.  This person is Carl Stotz.  Stotz is the founder of Little League Baseball and deserves to have his own card.

Monty Sheldon Mailday Includes A Very Rare Kalas Sketch

This afternoon I received a package in the mail from renown sports artist Monty Sheldon.  Inside was a birthday gift that I will never let leave my personal collection.  Monty took the time to draw me a Harry Kalas one-of-one sketch card.  This card is way beyond awesome!!!!!!!!!  It was extremely nice of him to take the time to draw this cardboard masterpiece.  This has to be the ultimate one-of-one in my collection.  You won’t be able to find another card like this anywhere else in the world.  You can’t imagine how surprised I was when I opened the package.  This has to be one of the nicest cards I own.  Now this is a true one-of-one.

In addition to the Harry Kalas sketch card, Monty also sent my three Phillies 2010 National Chicle SP’s, and he autographed a few Chicle cards for me including Michael Vick and Jimmie Foxx.

Be sure to check out Monty Sheldon’s website and auctions.

This card depicts Hall of Fame Phillies broadcaster, Harry Kalas, throwing out the first pitch.  Monty Sheldon even signed and dated the back of the card.  It is card number 64 in his 2010 Sketch Card Set.

Mailday From The Pin Man

This morning I was going through yesterday’s mail and I came upon this little item I purchased from Jim Maser a.k.a The Pin Man, who I met during last year’s National in Cleveland.  According to this pin, the Phillies won the 2009 World Series, but I think we all know thats not the case.  This is an error pin that somehow made its way onto the secondary market.  These were probably made up before the ’09 World Series was over and should have been discarded, but this one slipped out the door and will stay in my collection for quite sometime.  In my mind, the Phillies went all the way last year 🙂

Harry Kalas Red Ink Mailday!

I’ve been waiting all week for this card to arrive so I could show it off.  Last weekend I picked up this Harry Kalas 2004 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Classic Red Ink autograph serial numbered 1/25.  I’m so happy I was able to win this card.  I even got it for less than the blue ink version I own which is numbered 1/50.  This is the fourth Kalas autograph I own and is one of the cornerstones of my collection.  I’m always on the lookout for more Kalas autographs.

Topps Mailday!

Last week I won this Ernie Banks 2003 Topps Gallery 1958 Wheat Penny card in a contest they held on Twitter!  Today it arrived.  Check it out!

Trade With VOTC

Earlier this week I was contacted by Rob from Voice of the Collector.  He wanted to let me know that he won a free Jimmy Rollins 2002 Topps Ten autograph from the Topps Blog.  We were able to work out a trade and today my card arrived in the mail.  In return, Rob received the following:

  • (1) Alfonso Soriano ’07 Bowman Sterling bat
  • (1) Carlos Zambrano ’08 Topps Allen & Ginter jersey
  • (1) Aramis Ramirez ’09 UD SP Legendary Cuts jersey

I’d like to thank Rob for agreeing to go through with the trade.  I think I came out ahead on my end.  Be sure to check out his blog.  You can also catch him on Card Corner Radio, which is one of the most informative radio shows when it comes to The Hobby.

On-card autograph of Jimmy Rollins!
