“Pin-Up” of the Week: Phillies vs. Marlins April 2012 Opening Day Pin

Baseball season has officially started.  The Phillies are currently sitting in 3rd place within the National League East Division behind the Mets and Nationals.  After last night’s win against the Marlins the Phillies record sits at 3-3.  I’ll be happy when the Phillies get their normal lineup back.  By having Utley and Howard out can really throw things out of whack.  I’ve been impressed by the way Freddy Galvis has played at second base.  I don’t think a single ball can ever get passed him.  Ty Wigginton has made some good plays while playing at first too.  Who knows when they will have the normal lineup back.

The above pin was made for the Phillies home opener earlier this week.  Its a little rarer than others, which is why it is currently selling for over $20.00.

On a side note.  What do you think of the Miami Marlins new colors/logo and stadium?  Have you seen the giant colorful mountain they have sitting in the outfield?  If Elton John and Liberace had a child together, that’s what it would look like 🙂  The stadium is a great piece of architecture though.

Perfection!

Over the last few seasons, I have watched the Phillies do some amazing things.  I was on the edge of my seat last night while watching Roy Halladay pitch the 20th perfect game in major league history.  This was the first time I’ve ever watched someone pitch a perfect game too.  The last Phillies pitcher to throw a perfect game was Jim Bunning back in 1964.  Congrats to Roy Halladay!!!!  That was one of the best games I’ve ever watched.  Collectors can find his most popular rookies in 1997 Bowman Chrome.
