GOD BLESS OUR FALLEN HEROES!

New Addition To The Kalas Collection

This afternoon I received my Harry Kalas replica memorial statue that was a stadium giveaway last Thursday night from the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.  It sure looks nice on my shelf.  Anyone pull the Kalas cut signature yet found in Sportkings Series E?  I need it!

Holding this thing makes me feel like I won an Oscar.

The Harry Kalas Memorial Statue Unveiling

Sculptor Lawrence J. Nowlan announced that the Harry Kalas Memorial Statue will be unveiled at Citizens Bank Park on 8/14/11 at 1:05 p.m. in the plaza by the left field flag pole.  This statue has been in the making almost as soon as we lost our beloved broadcaster.  It will be exciting to see this finished piece of work.

Feel like donating to the cause, be sure to check out their official website to find out how you can help.  The next time I go to a Phillies game, this will be something I have to see!

Can’t help it.  I’m always looking for an excuse to show off my Harry Kalas 1/1 Sketch Card made by the great artist Monty Sheldon.

Plug: The Harry Kalas Memorial Statue

This morning I was checking up on the Harry Kalas Memorial Statue that is currently in the works.  They have come a long way since this great project got its start after Kalas’s death in 2009.  When its complete, it will be gifted to the Philadelphia Phillies.  I can’t wait to see the finished statue.  It sure will look great standing tall at Citizen’s Bank Park.  For more information about the statue, and if you’ed like to donate please click here.

The Harry Kalas Memorial Statue

What Phillies fan wouldn’t want to see a statue of Harry Kalas?  Thats exactly what Dear Harry, Inc. is trying to do right now.  Over 20,000 fans have petitioned to have a Harry Kalas statue in Philadelphia and Dear Harry, Inc. is looking to raise enough money to do so.  Be sure to check out their website where you can learn more about the organization and how to donate.  Over the weekend I saw a flyer for the Harry Kalas Memorial Statue laying on one of the tables during The Philly Show.  Be sure to check them out and ad one of the badges to your website or blog.
