Bob Hepner’s 1951 Bowman Originals Sketch Card Gallery

Twenty collectors (unless you’re really lucky and pull more than one) will get to own a 1951 Bowman Originals Sketch Card which can be found in 2017 Bowman.  Bob Hepner is the artist behind them.  A few have surfaced already, but not all.  It could be a long time before all twenty are found.

The checklist contains current stars and Hall of Famers.  If you’re wondering what they all look like, take a gander.

2017 Topps Gypsy Queen Portrait Art Patch Originals Gallery

Gypsy Queen is known for having all sorts of fun gems.  For 2017, Monty Sheldon and Brian Kong both collaborated in order to bring collectors the Portrait Art Patch Originals.  Monty Sheldon made the pencil drawings while Brian Kong did the ink and coloring.  You’ll notice each card has their initials on the front and signatures on the back.  All of these cards look amazing.  Anyone would be thrilled to pull one.

The 2017 Topps Gypsy Queen Portrait Art Patch Originals set contains (38) cards covering (19) different players.  Players include: Mookie Betts, Kris Bryant, Robinson Cano, Roger Clemens, Carlos Correa, Zack Greinke, Cole Hamels, Bryce Harper, Ichiro, Adam Jones, Barry Larkin, Manny Machado, Mark McGwire, Noah Syndergaard, Anthony Rizzo, Chris Sale, Max Scherzer, Giancarlo Stanton, and Mike Trout.

Preview: Museum Collection’s Canvas Collection Artist Originals Autographs

Its very difficult to impress collectors today.  Things are almost as if they’re at a standstill when it comes to innovation within the hobby.  We just see so much of the same stuff over and over again.  Every now and then we see little glimpses of something really worth talking about.

Museum Collection has been a big hit with collectors.  2014 Topps Museum Collection Football is scheduled to be released in February.  Topps plans to bring back a lot of the stuff that collectors enjoyed last year, plus they’ll be throwing in some new items.  One of those new items are the Canvas Collection Artist Originals Autographs.  James Henry Smith is the artist who made these little beauties.  There are ten cards in this set, each numbered 1/1, and will be signed by the athlete.  Leaf has made some athlete signed sketch cards in the past, but nothing quite as good looking as these.  This is our first look at them, and as you can tell they haven’t been signed yet.  If you’re not lucky in pulling one of the cards pictured below, Museum Collection does have it’s share of other original art pieces.

The autograph area seems a bit boxy, but I can only think it was made like that so the artist knew where to stop.
