Jamie Cooper Shows Off Latest MLB Painting

Jamie Cooper recently showed off a portion of his latest masterpiece.  The artist behind the Phillies and Yankees Dream Scenes has been working on a painting for a private collector in the United States.  This piece takes place in 1933 at Comiskey Park, which is the site of the very first All-Star Game.  Over twenty of this private collector’s favorite baseball players will be featured in this painting.  Players include Mickey Mantle, “Shoeless” Joe Jackson, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Jackie Robinson, Sandy Koufax, and Hank Aaron.  I haven’t heard yet whether or not prints will be made available.  When the painting is complete, I’ll be sure to share a picture.

Outside of his U.S. projects, Jamie Cooper has been quite busy.  He recently did a series of caricatures which were used for an Australian Football League card product.  The caricatures were printed in 3D, and fall 1:60 packs.  I would highly suggest U.S. card companies to give his work a look.  I believe he could make some interesting looking stuff for American sports cards.  Next on his plate is a Dream Scene for the Spanish soccer club Atlético Madrid.

You can now purchase prints directly from Jamie Cooper’s shop.  His prints make great gifts.  Go buy something!!!

Welcome Home Phillies “Dream Scene” Print

A few weeks ago I received a package in the mail from Jamie Cooper who painted the Phillies “Dream Scene” painting that hangs in the Diamond Club of Citizens Bank Park.  Inside the package were two signed prints of this famous piece of art.  I decided to get one framed to place on my wall.  As a Phillies fan, this is a great addition to my personal collection.  If your interested in adding one of these prints to your collection, please contact Jamie Cooper at: jamie@jcap.com.au

Phillies “Dream Team” Painting Possibly Coming Soon To Fans

Upstairs at Citizens Bank Park hanging in the Phillies Diamond Club is one of the greatest pieces of Phillies artwork ever created.  The Phillies “Dream Team” piece was created by Jamie Cooper and features various Philadelphia Phillies from different eras.  It even has Harry Kalas interviewing Richie Ashburn to the right.  I wrote a post about this piece of work last January, and recently I was contacted by Mr. Cooper who wanted to know my thoughts about making prints of the piece available to collectors.  As of right now, only extremely high-end copies are available to collectors and can cost into the thousands.  Cooper would like to offer collectors a chance to own a copy of this print, but at a more economical cost.

What he is thinking about is creating a 45 x 18 inch print on 250 gsm art stock.  The price would probably be around $125.00 plus shipping & handing.  Right now this isn’t definite, but he asked if I would help spread the word informing Phillies fans that this could be something available.  In my opinion, its the greatest piece of Phillies artwork ever created.  It just looks so cool!!

Please let me know what you think of this idea.  Jamie is looking for some feedback to see if its worth going through with.  He has had a lot of requests to make the painting more affordable.

Rediscovered A Gehrig Promo

For those hardcore Lou Gehrig collectors, here is a card that you may not have.  This is a promotional giveaway I received during The National last year in Cleveland.  Graig Kreindler is an artist and this card features a copy of  the “Gehrig’s Farewell” painting that he did.  It is slightly bigger than your standard card, but still fits into a top loader.  I found it the other day and forgot I had it.  Its definitely one of the most interesting promos I picked up.  I don’t think there is another card out there that better commemorates this event in baseball history.

The Best Phillies Painting Ever

This has to be one of the coolest Phillies paintings I’ve ever seen.  It was painted by Jamie Cooper and is currently hanging in the Phillies Hall of Fame.  This painting features a ton of Phillies from the past and present all in one shot.  It looks as if they just got finished playing a game and someone popped their head inside the locker room and took a picture.  Imagine getting signatures on something like this.  Click on each picture to enlarge.
