2012-2013 Panini Prestige Basketball Box Break & Review
Design:
As soon as I saw the base set, the first thing that came to mind was 2012 Score Football. The base set has a blank area at the bottom, which looks like it needs something there.
The bottom looks too empty. What could go there?
Pipino the Knight looks good down there. You rarely see him on cards.
Or you could go with my personal favorite. Fill the area with Tracy Hackler heads 🙂 Mr. Hackler is the Hobby Marketing Manager for Panini America.
The design isn’t that bad. Very glossy finish with a bright color photo on the front. Jersey cards are a dime a dozen in today’s hobby, and patches probably aren’t that far behind, but I do like the look of the True Colors memorabilia cards.
Price:
Boxes are currently selling for $96.00.
“Hit” Quality:
Every box promises (3) autographs and (1) memorabilia card.
I pulled the following:
Autos
- Luol Deng Prestigious Pros Auto
- Tyler Zeller Prestigious Picks Auto
- Nikola Vucevic Prestigous Picks Auto
Relics
- Russell Westbrook True Colors Jersey
- Ricky Rubio True Colors Jersey
- Deron Williams Inside The Numbers 2-color Patch #’ed/25

Overall:
Overall, I give 2012-2013 Panini Prestige 3 basketballs out of 5 (1=poor & 5=perfect). Its a nice product for set collectors, especially ones looking for the NBA’s newest rookies.
