Press Pass ’09 National Promotional Events

This morning I received the following information from Press Pass, Inc on what promotional events will be taking place at their booth during the National this year.

Press Pass Inc. brings back their popular box redemption programs to The National Sports Collectors Convention at the I-X Center in Cleveland, OH, July 29 -August 2. Collectors purchase a hobby box of 2009 Press Pass Eclipse, Premium, or Stealth NASCAR trading cards from a dealer at the show and bring the box to the Press Pass booth (#1041).  Collectors then open the box with a Press Pass representative and share their opinions on the product.  Upon completion, collectors receive a blind-wrapped foil pack that will contain one autograph or dual memorabilia card from a wide variety of popular drivers such as Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, and Mark Martin.

New for 2009 is a daily “box wars” promotion involving the most upscale release in NASCAR trading card history: Press Pass Showcase. Collectors can bring their 3-pack Showcase boxes to the Press Pass booth each day at the designated time for a group box break (Wed. 7:00p, Thurs. & Fri. 2:00p, Sat. 12:00p & 2:00p). At each “box wars” session, collectors will vie for exclusive “1 of 1” race-used memorabilia cards (1 winner per session) plus be entered into a drawing for an unbelievable grand prize of a limited edition NASCAR 50th Anniversary Lithograph signed by 34 of NASCAR’s 50 greatest drivers. The lithograph, which measures 25” x 39” and has an estimated value of over $5,000, will be on display at the booth. The winner of the lithograph will be chosen on Saturday immediately after the 2:00 box break.

Press Pass has also announced that they are producing exclusive 2009 Press Pass Legends Football cards for an exciting wrapper redemption promotion at The National.  Each collector who opens one 6-pack mini-box of 2009 Legends Football at the Press Pass booth will receive a special National-exclusive base card parallel featuring red foil stamping and sequential numbering to only 5! Each card will be blind-wrapped in an opaque silver foil pack. Each player in the set will be available, including legends featured in their collegiate uniforms such as John Elway, Deion Sanders, Tony Dorsett, Rod Woodson, Frank Gifford, Bruce Smith, Lawrence Taylor, Bill Cowher, Dan Fouts, Fran Tarkenton, Sam Huff, Doug Williams, Kellen Winslow, Boomer Esiason, Dave Casper, Mike Alstott, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Tom Jackson, John Brodie, Paul Hornung, Bob Lilly, Dick Anderson, Jim Kiick, Cliff Branch, Charley Taylor, Randall Cunningham, Bernie Kosar, and Ozzie Newsome, along with outstanding 2009 rookies like Mark Sanchez, Matthew Stafford, Michael Crabtree and Knowshon Moreno.

Collectors will also find Legends Football “Saturday Signatures” randomly inserted in place of the red foil parallels.

When I attended the National two years ago I really enjoyed visiting the Press Pass booth.  I opened a bunch of Press Pass Legends mini boxes, pulled some great autographs, and in return was given a silver pack with a parallel numbered to 10 inside.  This year it looks like the parallel will be numbered to 5 and if your lucky contain an autograph.  Taking part in the promotional events is one of the best things about the National.

When I opened one of my mini boxes of Press Pass Legends at their booth during the ’07 National I got shorted an autograph.  Press Pass’s representitives were very helpful and in a few weeks they sent me a Paul Hornung autograph.

FREE: Exclusive Press Pass Promotional Set

Have you ever been surfing the internet and wondered how you got to a certain website?  Tonight I was doing that very thing and somehow I ended up at Press Pass’s blog.  Press Pass doesn’t update their blog very much, but a few days ago they posted a link to a survey they would like collectors to take.  In return for taking the time to fill out the survey, Press Pass plans to distribute an exclusive promotional set.  At the end of the survey, just fill in your name and address and Press Pass will send you a free promotional set.  They don’t give too much detail about whats included in the set, but here is what one person received:
