“Pin-Up” of the Week: 2014 Hard Rock Cafe Boston Marathon Pin
I’m no expert when it comes to the Boston Marathon. I’m not really an expert on any type of marathon. All I do know is that American Meb Keflezighi won the 2014 Boston Marathon on Monday. What interests me is the merchandise one could pick-up while watching and/or participating in the race. Of coarse the most valuable item one could obtain is a medal for finishing, which many people don’t seem to mind selling. I imagine the people buying these medals are trying to convince others that they finished the race.
The marketing people over at the Hard Rock Cafe put together a nice looking pin to commemorate this year’s race. Like many of their pins, its in the shape of a guitar. Running shoes in the shape of a butterfly make up the guitar body, while the Boston Strong ribbon is on the neck. Hard Rock Cafe made 300 of these pins and can be found for $20.00 to $30.00.

“Pin-Up” of the Week: Hard Rock Cafe 2013 Boston Marathon L.E. Guitar Pin
I don’t think we need to rehash everything that went on this week in Boston. Its been all over the news. Hard Rock Cafe made this pin to commemorate the 117th running of the Boston Marathon. They only made 300 of them which isn’t a lot when it comes to pins. Collectors can find them for $15.00 to $30.00. Volunteers helping out during the marathon received a logo lapel pin which seems to be a bit more popular. Then again, anything associated with this event is getting a lot of attention. Some people have even been selling their finishing medals. I guess capitalism never stops.

Harrisburg Senators vs. New Britain Rock Cats – 7/21/12
Last night I went to see the Harrisburg Senators take on the New Britain Rock Cats. It was suppose to be Bryce Harper bobblehead night, but there was a little problem. All of the bobbleheads were stuck in Ohio, and weren’t going to get there on time. The Senators staff was scrounging for anything they could give away – stuffed animals, baseballs, etc…
The first 1,000 fans through the gate received a voucher which can be exchanged for the Bryce Harper bobblehead. Starting on 7/24/12, vouchers can be redeemed in person at Freysinger Guest Services or the Senators front office. The vouchers will expire on 9/30/12.
At first I was a little upset that the bobbleheads weren’t going to be given out, but then I gave it some thought. These Harper bobbleheads were going to be popular to begin with. Now that there is an extra step involved to get one, they might be even rarer. Think about it. How many people probably lost their vouchers? Won’t have the time to pick them up? Will forget to pick them up? Lots of factors can play into this. I know one thing is for sure. I’ve got my two vouchers and WILL pick mine up.
The Senators won 5-0. My seat was right behind home plate, and the food seemed to taste a little better compared to previous years.
Nationals prospect Destin Hood at the plate.
