One of the top things to do while attending the National Sports Collectors Convention is bust boxes. There are always plenty of dealers ready to provide you with your box breaking fix. Among the dealers you’ll find is Steel City Collectibles out of McKeesport, PA. And guess what? They have a promo for this year’s National. While supplies last, anyone who purchases a box from the Steel City Collectibles booth will receive a Roberto Clemente Beckett Sports Card Monthly cover card. This card looks just like the cover to an issue of BSCM, and is a National exclusive. Limited quantities will be available.

Man Of Steel which is due out on June 14th is suppose to set the scene for future DC Comics movies. So far I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen in all of these trailers. In this new one, we get to see a glimpse at his heat vision. The rumor around town is that Wayne Enterprises, Batman, and other DC Comics characters could be referenced in this movie. I’m really looking forward to this one as DC has a lot of catching up to do when compared to Marvel.

We are only a few weeks away from the summer superhero movie kick off. It all starts with Iron Man 3 on May 3rd. This morning I awoke to see the third trailer for Man Of Steel which hits theaters June 14th. Of all the superhero movies coming out this year, I think I’m looking forward to this one the most. I’m a huge fan of everything that Marvel is doing, but when I was younger my first introduction to the world of superheros began with the DC Comics characters. Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy was very well done and with him behind this movie I’m excited to see how they plan to set the tone for future DC Comics films.
The word around town is that this new Superman will be a little different from previous ones we have seen on the big screen before. I’ve heard that kryptonite isn’t even in the film. There have been thousands of rumors and talk of a Justice League movie in the works, but that project has just had one problem after another. One rumor that sparked my interest was that Christian Bale’s Batman would make a return somehow, but that was quickly shutdown.
I’d like nothing more than to see Bale’s Batman show up in a post credit scene of the Man Of Steel. I could see Batman standing in the shadows while reaching into his belt to unveil a small piece of kryptonite to Superman while saying “It doesn’t take much.”

Good luck trying to sneak this product on an airplane, because its not going to happen. 1999 wasn’t the first year Topps made Stars ‘N Steel, I just like the box design better than 1998. Each box comes with 12 packs containing 3 cards. There are only 44 cards in the set and each one is printed on 25 gauge metal. Having no rookies, autographs, or relics, this product isn’t the most fun to open. The cards do look nice though.
