Chase Utley’s Best Patch Card…Ever

Allen & Ginter has some unique stuff.  This Chase Utley Jersey Name Plate is one of those unique items they offer.  If I were the person to pull this from my box, I think someone would have to take me to the emergency room.  Totally nuts!!!

Fathead Mailday

Last week I was contacted by a marketing company and they told me to stay on the lookout for a Fathead in the mail.  Well, today it arrived and its of Phillies second baseman Chase Utley.  I thought they might send a Fathead Tradeable that is the size of a baseball card.  To my surprise, its one of the larger Fatheads you can place on the wall.  I usually giveaway stuff I receive for free, but I think I’ll keep this one 🙂

Card of the Day: Chase Utley 2002 Bowman Auto

How can this not be the Card of the Day?  I’m hoping Utley hits another dinger to break Reggie Jackson’s World Series home run record tonight.  Although Utley’s true rookies come from 2001, this is one of his most valuable cards because its one of his first certified autographs.  His other autograph from 2002 comes from Topps Traded.  Too bad Utley wasn’t included in 2001 Bowman Chrome.  Can you imagine what one of those would be worth?

Card of the Day: Chuck Howley 1967 Philadelphia #53

In 1971 Chuck Howley won the Super Bowl MVP Award for the Dallas Cowboys.  The only problem is that the Cowboys lost the Super Bowl that year.  This was the only time the MVP Award was given to a player from the losing team.

Last night while watching the World Series Chase Utley hit another pair of homers.  If he hits one more he’ll pass Reggie Jackson on the list of players who have hit the most home runs in the World Series.  Even if the Phillies lose, would it be possible for Utley to be the MVP?  Nobody in particular has stood out for the Yankees, except for maybe Johnny Damon.  Either way, the Phillies are making their mark on the ’09 World Series which for the past few years has ended after 5 games.  There hasn’t had to be a Game 6 for quite sometime.

PHOTOS: Phillies vs. Orioles

This was my first trip to Citizens Bank Park, and I must say its one of the nicest stadiums I’ve ever been to. Check out some of the photos! More can be found on Facebook.

Suite #65 is where I got to watch the game. Probably the best box I’ve ever watched a game from. Someday I want to see the name “Sports Card Info” on a box.

Phillies Take Game 1

Thanks to Chase Utley, Pat Burrell, and Shane Victorino the Phillies were able to come out ahead last night and beat the Dodgers 3-2.  Only three more wins and the Phillies head to the World Series!!!!
