Super Bowl XLVII Promo Pack Break

Last week I took advantage of Panini’s Super Bowl XLVII promotion they had going over on iCollectPanini.com.  In order to get one of these promo packs you had to purchase a 2012 football product worth $60.00 or more.  Luckily I was able to get in on the deal by picking up a retail box of 2012 Absolute before they sold out.  This weekend I plan to break the Absolute box, but I couldn’t wait to open my promo pack.

Inside was a Joe Greene autograph #’ed/25.  There really isn’t a bad pack when it comes to this promo.  Each pack has an autograph of a veteran or popular 2012 rookie numbered to 25 or less.

“Pin-Up” of the Week: Super Bowl XLVII Media Pin

Photobucket

Here it is!  One of the most sought after Super Bowl XLVII collectibles floating around.  This is the official Super Bowl XLVII pin that was given exclusively to credentialed Super Bowl media.  Collectors are always on the lookout for the media pin as they are much harder to obtain.  Normal pins that can be found in the gift shops or eBay generally sell for an average of $5.00 to $10.00.  The media pin on the other hand is currently selling for up to $100.00 or more.  Other popular non-traditional pins that seem to be getting a lot of attention are the ones made by the Hard Rock Cafe and VISA.

iCollectPanini.com Super Bowl XLVII Black Box Promotion

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it it again.  Panini is one of the best manufacturers when it comes to promos.  In addition to their commemorative Super Bowl XLVII set, Panini has created a special Super Bowl XLVII Black Box promotion over on iCollectPanini.com.  Anyone who purchases a 2012 NFL product (hobby or retail) with an MSRP of $60.00 or more will receive one of these special packs while supplies last.  Inside each Black Box you’ll find one autographed card specifically made for this promotion.  Below are just a few of the cards that you could pull.  Check out The Knight’s Lance for more pictures.  Last night I purchased a retail box of 2012 Absolute, and I’m looking forward to seeing what I pull from my Black Box pack.

Panini Gives Collectors A Peek At Their Super Bowl XLVII Promos

The Super Bowl is a paradise for promos.  Now that we know who will be heading to the Super Bowl this year, the promos will start to roll out.  It sure didn’t take Panini long to give collectors a peek at their Super Bowl XLVII promotional set.  How does one obtain this set?  Nobody quite knows yet, but it won’t be long until they unveil the details.  Panini has a reputation of having some of the best promotional programs in the industry.  If there’s one thing they’re good at, its promos.

The 49ers and Ravens will play in Super Bowl XLVII on 2/3/13.  Its refreshing to see two teams in it that haven’t been there for a long time.  We finally have a year without the Giants or Patriots.  I believe I can speak for the hobby when I say that Colin Kaepernick surprised the hell out of us.  Nobody expected to see his cards selling for what they are now.

Panini’s Super Bowl plans are just unfolding.  There is much more to come.

Update

This set will be available at Panini’s booth during the Super Bowl XLVII NFL Experience.  It will consist of eight 49ers, eight Ravens, and eight Saints.  Plus there will be two commemorative patch cards.  One will commemorate Super Bowl XLVII and the other will commemorate Drew Brees’ performance in Super Bowl XLIV.  To see more be sure to check out The Knight’s Lance.
