Collectors Defending NSA….. I’m Not One Of Them

I’ve talked about NSA “relic” cards on hear before, and the topic has been one of the most clicked on posts I have ever written over the two year period this blog has been around.  Last night I received another comment on my original post from a collector actually defending NSA.  Most collectors agree with me that these cards DO NOT contain actual relics worn by the athlete pictured on the front of each card.  But there are some people that think these cards are great investments and are waiting for them to go up in price.  I don’t know how many times I have to tell people, but the COA on the reverse side of each card doesn’t state the piece of memorabilia was actually used by the athlete.  Comparing an NSA COA to a COA from Upper Deck, Topps, or Panini you can clearly see the difference.

I have to laugh at the people defending this company.  Take a look at some of their comments I’ve received:

  • Why would this company risk going to jail over a few dollars? You can buy a Brett Favre Game Used jersey for $500 cut it up into 1000’s of pieces where each piece would be about 50 cents or so. You can sell the cards for $25 -$30. You can easily make $25,000 from one jersey. What do you think Upper Deck does? It does not have to be fake! Get the point!
  • Say what you want. I would think if these jersey cards where not the real thing these stars would have sued NSA for false advertising by now. I know I would have wouldn’t you? So I’m buying them up as fast as I can before they catch on and the prices skyrocket.
  • I bought a two LeBron James jersey cards. I think NSA is actually a good company, since it is often hard to get a piece of that size of swatch from an NBA jersey. I was lucky and got half of an NBA logos from LeBron’s jersey. I also got a high school jersey. They are great prices going by the fact that most LeBron James High School jersey pieces are a load more. Its a rare find because they don’t play near the amount of high school games that they do in the NBA. I just think NSA is a good company.

  1. Show me where you can buy a Favre gamer for 500. Even the bench players go for more than 500! Slap whoever said that, then show them the jersey that went for 12,000 recently.

    • I just found out today via a reply on my e-bay account that these NSA cards are fake. I have one of these cards and want to know can anyone actually confirm NSA cards are fraudulant?

  3. I love how on the original page comment he says how he basically likes getting fake patches

  4. I am not defending them either . You say why go to jail over a few dollars . THEY HAVE MADE OVER 2000 SALES ON EBAY FOR MORE THAN 8 DOLLARS . They would not give me my refund on ebay after finding out they were conterfeit . Good idea . I can even give you the name the transaction was made out too. I did report this to ebay . Clearly states that all cards manufactured by upperdeck is liscensed by the NFL . READ THE BACK OF THE CARDS NEXT TIME YOU BUY THEM . I got scammed I did my research , I learn and I live !

  5. HEY GUYS
I HAVE PURCHASED SOME OF THESE A WHILE BACK ON EBAY ALSO…
I AM A LAWYER WITH A VERY LARGE FIRM. I HAVE TAKEN IT UPON MYSELF TO INVESTIGATE NSA AND HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS COMPANY IS 110% LEGIT IF YOU CAN BELEIVE THAT. THEY HAVE ALREADY BEEN INVESTIGATED AND HAVE PROVEN DOCUMENTS OF ALL PURCHASES ON THEIR GAME USED MEMORABILIA. THERE IS AN ARTICLE IN SED ON THIS COMPANY THAT PROVES THEY ARE LEGIT. THESE ARE NOT CARDS, I HOPE YOU ALL KNOW THAT -BUT SIMPLY A COLLECTIBLE PIECE WITH A COLLAGE- SIMILIAR TO WHAT BECKETT DOES IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER.
I THINK THESE ARE GREAT ITMES AND MY RESEARCH HAS ME CONVINCED THEY ARE JUST A GREAT BUY IN THESE HARD TIMES. NOBODY EXPECTS THESE TO BECOME MILIION DOLLAR ITEMS, SO IF YOU DON’T LIKE….DON’T BUY EM IS MY ADVICE!!

  6. I have only left one comment on this blog in the past.
I think you are fishing for something that is not there and have been for a while and it is a disgrace. Just because someone has opened the items does not mean that they are not real, and actually they look quite real to me. I have also looked at some of your photos; maybe you should thank God that you have a chance at life-
Clearly you do realize that you are just giving NSA more business! I am also sending a copy of all this to NSA so now they are aware of what you are doing.
Since I am a lawyer I hope they sue the shit out of you.
All you are doing is writing about a product so you can get hits on your blog meanwhile boosting business for them and making yourself look bad in the process.
It is very apparent from their response to you they have done nothing wrong, any smart person knows there are only 3 companies that do professional authentication and to only accept game used memorabilia from these companies is highly professional of them.
Maybe you just need to get laid…your blog is a joke
I will represent NSA at this point, if they would like for free or maybe trade for some of their great products.

    • Thanks, now what law firm? I’d love to call it and chat. Also what was NSA’s address I’d love to have it.

  7. Might want to check out NSA’s website under “testimonials” – all the testimonials are taken directly from the comments on your original post about NSA!!

  8. Ross,

We all know these guys are fake.

    http://nsa-grading.com/testimonials.html

Check out their “testimonials,” they look pretty familiar, eh?

(Just read the comments on the old post Ross made people, NSA pulled a cut-and-paste scam)

Keep exposing fraud in the hobby,

    Eric

  9. HAHAHA!

Looks like I missed where you already pointed that out …

    Keep up the good work!
