(2) 2015 Topps Five Star Baseball Box Break

While attending the Central PA Sports Card Show yesterday I picked up two boxes of 2015 Topps Five Star Baseball.  This was the first time I ever opened a box from the Five Star brand.  In the past, this was a brand that was well out of my price range.  Spending $400.00 – $500.00 for a box of cards was well out of the question.  Topps reconfigured the Five Star Baseball brand for 2015.  The high-quality on-card autograph content is still present, but the amount of “hits” was cut down.  As a result, the price dropped dramatically.  This made the Five Star brand much more affordable to collectors.

These two boxes delivered some great looking cards.  Topps did an awesome job with those Golden Graphs autographs.  The matte black background really makes that gold paint pen signature stand out.

Here is what I pulled:

  • Jorge Soler RC Auto
  • Micah Johnson RC Auto
  • Roger Clemens Golden Graphs Green Parallel Auto #’ed/15
  • Frank Robinson Gold Parallel Auto #’ed/50

  1. […] VSM Sports Card Outlet was where I spent most of my time and money.  In addition to high-end cards under glass cases, they had autographs and relics divided up in boxes.  I spent a chunk of time flipping through the Phillies section, but didn’t come up with anything I need.  But the fun of it is not knowing what you might find.  They also had the best supply of newer boxes.  I bought two boxes of 2015 Topps Five Star Baseball. 2. Nice pulls. If you’d like to trade the Soler let me know. Huge Cubs fan here. Thanks.
